AI Typing Detection

AI overlay tools read the screen and type answers character by character at speeds no human can match. Codebusted detects these velocity bursts automatically.

How it works

Every 2 seconds, Codebusted diffs the candidate's code snapshot against the previous one. If more than 40 characters were added and the velocity exceeds 15 characters per second, it's flagged as a suspicious AI pattern.

Thresholds

• Normal human typing: 4–7 characters/sec
• Fast human typing: up to 12 characters/sec
• AI overlay tools: 20–50+ characters/sec
• Codebusted flags: above 15 characters/sec

Impact on score

Each AI pattern flag deducts 15 points from the integrity score and appears in the activity timeline and PDF report.
